INposition™ is the missing link in the electronic pre-press process: this XTension to QuarkXPress automates the time-consuming and labor-intensive task of imposing a publication. Whether for a simple brochure or a long book, signature set up and plate creation are remarkably easy. And final editing or last-minute changes are no problem: simply make the alterations to the original QuarkXPress documents and then update your publication with a click of the mouse-all without leaving QuarkXPress! Print the flats on any PostScript output device (even direct-to-film imagesetters) for proofing and platemaking, and you're ready for the next job….
A standard floating palette, the Publication palette is where imposed publications are actually created: the pages are selected from QuarkXPress documents and then automatically positioned and oriented according to the signature requirements of the book. "Thumbnails" of the acquired pages and the imposed flats are provided, allowing you to visually verify the process. When the pages are imposed, and any adjustments made, the flats can be printed on any PostScript® imagesetter in preparation for platemaking.
An interactive demonstration illustrating the pre-press and printing processes, and introducing INposition, is also available. This demo shows you how to automate the formerly time-consuming and labor-intensive task of imposing a publication.
